Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans change. This policy explains the cancellation terms for all Saffron Chariot helicopter yatra packages, weather-related delays, and how to request changes to your booking.
Last updated: January 2026
1. Cancellation by the Customer
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to bookings@saffronchariot.com or WhatsApp. The cancellation date is the date on which written confirmation is received by Saffron Chariot.
| Days Before Departure | Cancellation Charge | Refund Amount |
|---|---|---|
| More than 60 days | 10% of total package value | 90% refunded |
| 31–60 days | 25% of total package value | 75% refunded |
| 15–30 days | 50% of total package value | 50% refunded |
| 7–14 days | 75% of total package value | 25% refunded |
| Less than 7 days | 100% of total package value | No refund |
| No show / no contact | 100% of total package value | No refund |
Note: The advance booking deposit (25–30%) is non-refundable if cancelled within 30 days of departure, regardless of the schedule above.
2. Weather-Related Cancellations and Delays
Helicopter operations in the Himalayas are weather-dependent. Saffron Chariot is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by adverse weather, including but not limited to fog, snow, high winds, heavy rainfall, or any condition deemed unsafe by the aviation operator or DGCA.
Our Weather Delay Policy
Buffer Day Included
All 5N/6D packages include one buffer day to accommodate weather delays. This means one day of helicopter grounding is absorbed within the existing itinerary at no additional cost.
Extended Delay (Beyond 1 Day)
If weather grounds helicopters for more than 1 day: we extend hotel accommodation at our cost for up to 1 additional night. If delay extends further, we offer (a) continued wait at actuals cost sharing, or (b) partial refund for any dham not completed.
Missed Dham Refund
If a specific dham cannot be completed due to sustained weather grounds (not within the buffer), a proportional refund is calculated based on the dham's share of the package cost. The exact amount is determined case by case.
No Refund for Short Delays
Delays of up to 4 hours within the same day do not qualify for any refund. Mountain weather is variable and same-day clearances are common.
3. Cancellation by Saffron Chariot
In the rare event that Saffron Chariot cancels a package before departure (due to reasons within our control), we will offer:
- Full refund of all payments made, OR
- Rebooking to an alternative date of your choice at no additional cost
Cancellations caused by government orders, temple closures by temple trusts, natural disasters, or force majeure events are not within Saffron Chariot's control and will be handled under the weather-related provisions above on a case-by-case basis.
4. Rescheduling / Date Changes
Date changes are subject to availability and the following charges:
- More than 30 days before departure: ₹5,000 per person rescheduling fee
- 15–30 days before departure: ₹10,000 per person rescheduling fee
- Less than 15 days before departure: Treated as cancellation and rebooking (standard cancellation charges apply)
One date change per booking is permitted. Subsequent changes are treated as cancellation and rebooking.
5. Medical Cancellations
Cancellations due to a documented medical emergency (valid medical certificate required) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We will waive cancellation charges up to the point that costs have been committed to aviation partners and hotels. Please contact us immediately — the sooner we know, the more we can recover for you.
6. Refund Processing
- Refunds are processed to the original payment source (bank transfer, UPI, credit card) within 7–10 business days of the cancellation confirmation
- International wire transfer refunds (NRI customers) may take 10–15 business days due to banking processes
- All refunds are in INR at the exchange rate applicable at the time of payment
