Optional Kedarnath helicopter from Guptkashi: ₹6,000-₹13,000 per person (up to 80 kg, subject to availability via heliyatra.irctc.co.in - book direct, there are no authorised middlemen). VIP darshan at Kedarnath is mandatory for same-day helicopter pilgrims at ₹2,500-₹3,500 per person, collected by the temple committee. About Shri Kedarnath

Shri Kedarnath is a majestic sight - the 8th-century stone temple built by Adi Shankaracharya stands on a wide plateau at 3,581 m, surrounded by snow-covered peaks at the head of the Mandakini river. The shrine sits adjacent to an earlier temple built by the Pandavas; inside the assembly hall, walls are decorated with figures of various deities and scenes from mythology. Outside the door a large statue of the Nandi bull stands as guard.

Kedarnath is the northernmost and highest of the Panch Kedar - the five Shiva shrines associated with the Pandavas in the Garhwal Himalayas - and one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. It is a site of the highest religious importance for Shaivites; devotees who die here are said to become one with Shiva himself.

Important notes

• All vehicles in the hills are non-AC. Mountain hotel services cannot be compared to plain areas - we use the best available at each stop.
• The Kedarnath trek is mandatory on the darshan day unless you book the IRCTC heliyatra shuttle from Guptkashi. The trek is 16 km one way from Gaurikund (after a Sonprayag-Gaurikund local jeep transfer of ~3 km, paid direct).
• Helicopter shuttle slots, VIP darshan tokens, and pony / doli / porter rates on the trek are not included - they are paid direct via the IRCTC heliyatra portal or at Gaurikund.
• The helicopter shuttle is subject to weather and regulatory clearance. UCADA grounds flights in poor visibility and refunds are processed automatically by IRCTC.
• VIP darshan is mandatory for same-day helicopter pilgrims at Kedarnath (₹2,500-₹3,500 per person, collected by the temple committee).
• In case of a hike in hotel rates, the package cost will be amended accordingly.
• If group members do not arrive or depart with the group, additional transfer charges apply.
• Any expense incurred due to weather, road closures, or landslides is not covered. We will re-route where possible but cannot guarantee completion if a road is shut.
• Budget hotels in India are basic - please set expectations accordingly.
