Why Do Dham instead of Char Dham?
Pilgrims with limited leave (2-6 days) cannot complete all four dhams. Do Dham covers the two most popular - Kedarnath and Badrinath - while skipping Yamunotri and Gangotri (which are at the western, more remote end of the circuit). Many devout Shaivites and Vaishnavites consider Kedarnath and Badrinath the spiritual core of the Char Dham.
Can Do Dham really be done in one day by helicopter?
Yes. The same-day Do Dham charter departs Sahastradhara at sunrise, lands at Phata for Kedarnath darshan (helipad shuttle to the temple, ~10 min ride), then flies to Badrinath helipad for Badrinath darshan, then back to Sahastradhara by late afternoon. ₹1,35,000-₹1,40,000 per seat (4-6 seats per charter), all darshan and ground transfers included.
What is included in the multi-day helicopter Do Dham?
3 nights / 4 days from Dehradun: Day 1 arrival, Day 2 Kedarnath sector with overnight at Phata or Guptkashi, Day 3 Badrinath sector and overnight at Joshimath, Day 4 return to Dehradun. ₹1,40,000 per person at standard tier; includes hotels, all helicopter sectors, ground transfers, VIP darshan, daily breakfast and dinner.
How does road Do Dham compare?
5 nights / 6 days, ₹16,805 per person at 24-pax Standard tier (much more affordable). Kedarnath darshan is by foot trek (16 km from Gaurikund) or IRCTC heli shuttle from Phata (paid direct, ~₹6,000-₹13,000). Badrinath is a drive-in. Same-day arrival is not possible by road.
When is Do Dham yatra best done?
May-June and September-October. Helicopter is grounded in monsoon (July-August). Road yatra is technically possible in monsoon but landslide risk on the Kedarnath approach is high - we don't recommend.
Is Do Dham helicopter suitable for seniors?
Same-day Do Dham helicopter is the most senior-friendly two-dham format - no overnight altitude exposure. Multi-day helicopter is also senior-friendly. Road Do Dham requires the Kedarnath trek and is much harder on senior bodies; consider helicopter shuttle for the Kedarnath sector if road yatra is your only option.
