Why this circuit is different

One road, three living traditions

Most South India temple tours pull a single thread. This one deliberately braids all three, in the order the geography allows - and pairs naturally with the wider Shiva circuits of India.

Shaiva

Five elemental lingams

The Pancha Bhoota shrines, sung by the Nayanmar saints in the Thirumurai between the 6th and 9th centuries and built out by the Cholas, Pallavas, and Vijayanagara kings.

Shakti

The Goddess first

At Madurai worship begins with Meenakshi, not Shiva. Akhilandeswari at Thiruvanaikaval and Kamakshi at Kanchipuram carry the same sovereignty through the circuit.

Vaishnava

Kaliyuga Vaikuntam

The circuit closes on the Vaishnavite summit: Sri Venkateswara at Tirumala, the most visited pilgrimage shrine on earth, with Padmavathi at Tiruchanur the evening before.

The heart of the circuit

Five temples, five elements of the cosmos

In Shaiva thought the universe condenses from pure consciousness into Space, Air, Fire, Water, and finally Earth. Each element has one terrestrial anchor - and this itinerary stands you in front of all five.

Meenakshi Sundareswarar, Madurai Day 1

The circuit opens where worship begins with the Goddess: fourteen painted gopurams, the Golden Lotus Tank, and the Hall of a Thousand Pillars, rebuilt by the Nayaks in the 16th-17th centuries.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy, Tirumala Day 5

Kaliyuga Vaikuntam - the self-manifested Vishnu beneath the gold-gilded Ananda Nilayam. Your entry is through the TTD Protocol VIP Darshan channel, included in the package.

TTD Protocol VIP Darshan at Tirumala - included, not an add-on

Most operators quote Tirupati packages and leave you in the regular queue. Here the Protocol VIP Darshan / Special Entry Darshan is part of the package price: through the Vaikuntam Queue Complex to the sanctum of the Moolavirat, with Laddu Prasadam after. Carry your original photo ID; TTD verifies it at entry.

Before you go

Five things every pilgrim should know

  1. 01Traditional dress is enforced

Men: dhoti (veshti) with angavastram, bare-chested where required (Chidambaram sanctum). Women: saree, half-saree, or salwar kameez with dupatta. Jeans, shorts, and T-shirts are refused at Tirumala, Chidambaram, and Srikalahasti sanctums.

  2. 02Carry original photo ID

Tirumala entry and the Srikalahasti pooja halls require original government photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport) matching your booking details.

  3. 03Phones stay in the vehicle

Mobiles, cameras, smartwatches, and leather items are banned past the security lines at Madurai Meenakshi, Tirumala, and Arunachaleswarar. Lockers and the tour vehicle hold your things.

  4. 04Courtyards are walked barefoot

Open stone prakarams are crossed barefoot. Light cotton socks help on sun-heated stone; carry bottled water on the drives.

  5. 05Midday closures are planned for

Inner sanctums close roughly 12:30 to 15:30. Every long drive in this itinerary sits inside that window, keeping mornings and evenings free for darshan.

Questions, answered

Pancha Bhoota Sthalam package FAQs

What are the fixed departure dates for the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam and Tirupati tour?
This is a fixed-departure circuit with 8 guaranteed dates: 3 November 2026, 15 November 2026, 2 December 2026, 15 December 2026, 5 January 2027, 15 January 2027, 4 February 2027, 15 February 2027. Every departure is the same 5-night, 6-day itinerary, arriving into Madurai (IXM) and departing from Chennai (MAA). Seats on each date are limited by vehicle capacity, and private departures on your own dates can be arranged for groups.
What is the Pancha Bhoota Sthalam circuit?
Five ancient Shiva temples across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh where Shiva is worshipped as the five elements: Earth at Ekambareswarar (Kanchipuram), Water at Jambukeswarar (Thiruvanaikaval), Fire at Arunachaleswarar (Tiruvannamalai), Air at Srikalahasteeswara (Srikalahasti), and Space at Thillai Nataraja (Chidambaram). This package covers all five, plus Meenakshi Amman in Madurai and Sri Venkateswara at Tirumala Tirupati.
What does the package cost and what is included?
Deluxe (4-star hotels) is ₹46,000 per person on double sharing; Premium (5-star and heritage hotels) is ₹65,000 per person. Both include the private AC vehicle from Madurai Airport to Chennai Airport, 5 nights of hotels, 5 breakfasts and 5 vegetarian dinners, TTD VIP Darshan at Tirumala, all tolls, permits, driver charges, and GST. Flights and lunches are extra.
Is Tirupati VIP Darshan really included?
Yes. The package includes confirmed TTD Protocol VIP Darshan / Special Entry Darshan at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Tirumala, along with the traditional Laddu Prasadam. Carry the original photo ID used at booking; TTD checks it at entry.
Where does the tour start and end?
It starts with a pickup at Madurai Airport (IXM) on Day 1 and ends with a drop at Chennai International Airport (MAA) on the evening of Day 6. The south-to-north routing follows temple opening hours, so long drives fall in the midday closure window.
What is the Rahu-Ketu pooja at Srikalahasti?
Srikalahasti is one of India’s foremost centres for the Rahu-Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Pooja, performed to ease planetary and ancestral doshas. The pooja is pre-scheduled for your group in the temple mandapams on Day 6; ticket tiers range from ₹500 to ₹5,000 and include the ritual materials.
What is the dress code at these temples?
Traditional attire only in the inner sanctums: dhoti with angavastram for men (upper garment removed at the Chidambaram sanctum platform), saree, half-saree, or salwar kameez with dupatta for women. Western wear such as jeans, shorts, and T-shirts is turned away at Tirumala, Chidambaram, and Srikalahasti.
Which vehicle is used on the circuit?
Parties of 2 to 4 travel in a Toyota Innova Crysta; groups of 5 to 15 get a Force Urbania luxury van with full standing height and panoramic windows. The circuit covers roughly 700 km overall, and the same chauffeur stays with you from Madurai to Chennai.
Is buying Kanchipuram silk part of the tour?
Day 3 ends at certified Silk Handloom Weavers’ Cooperative Societies in Kanchipuram, where you can watch the looms work and buy pure mulberry silk. Look for the official Silk Mark tag, which certifies genuine silk and real gold or silver zari.
