A nine-day Uttarakhand sightseeing tour covering the full sweep of the Garhwal Himalayas: Mussoorie (the Queen of the Hills) for two nights, Chopta (the trek base for Tungnath, Chandrashila and Deoria Tal) for two nights, Auli (alpine meadows, the Joshimath chair lift and the Gurso Bugyal trek) for two nights, Rudraprayag (one of the Panch Prayag at the Alaknanda - Mandakini confluence) for one night, and Rishikesh (the Yoga Capital and the evening Ganga Aarti) for one night. Ex-Dehradun Airport or Haridwar Railway Station. Subject to weather and regulatory clearance.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Chopta. En route visit Tehri Lake and Rudraprayag, and before hotel check-in visit the Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath - the winter seat of the Panch Kedar. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight at Chopta.

After breakfast, choose the trek to either Tungnath (3 km, one of the Panch Kedar - and a 1 km push beyond to the Chandrashila summit) or Deoria Tal (high-altitude lake). The region is rich in flora and fauna - rhododendron and deodar all around. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Chopta.

After breakfast, drive to Auli via Joshimath. From Joshimath you can take the chair lift / cable car to Auli (own cost) for sweeping views of Nanda Devi. Check in at the hotel. Auli sits at 2,519 - 3,050 m and is one of India's premier skiing destinations, often compared with the best ski resorts in the world. Overnight at Auli.

After breakfast, trek to Gurso Bugyal - a high-altitude meadow with panoramic views of Trishul Peak, Dron Parvat and Nanda Devi. Return to the hotel for the night. Overnight at Auli.

After breakfast, descend from Auli via Joshimath and drive to Rudraprayag - one of the Panch Prayag, the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Check in at the hotel. Overnight at Rudraprayag.

After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. Check in at the hotel and enjoy local sightseeing - Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula. Evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Ashram. Rishikesh sits around 1,360 ft above sea level and is dotted with ancient Hindu temples, ashrams and meditation centres. Overnight at Rishikesh.

Mussoorie sits in the Garhwal foothills above Dehradun. Two nights here cover Kempty Falls, Company Garden, Library Chowk, Bhatta Falls, Camel Back Road and the Mall Road - plus the Gun Hill ropeway (own cost) for a panoramic Doon Valley view. Cool air, colonial-era buildings and a walkable hill-station strip.
Chopta, often called the "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand", is the trek base for Tungnath (3 km, the highest of the Panch Kedar at 3,680 m) and the further 1 km push to the Chandrashila summit, plus the gentler Deoria Tal high-altitude lake. En route on Day 3 you also see Tehri Lake and the Omkareshwar Temple at Ukhimath - the winter seat of the Panch Kedar - so the religious thread is preserved without the high-altitude pilgrimage logistics.
Auli sits at 2,519 - 3,050 m and is one of India's premier skiing destinations, often compared with the best ski resorts in the world. The Joshimath - Auli chair lift / cable car (own cost) gives sweeping views of Nanda Devi, and a short trek to Gurso Bugyal opens panoramic views of Trishul Peak and Dron Parvat.
Rudraprayag is one of the Panch Prayag (the five sacred confluences of the Alaknanda). Here the Mandakini meets the Alaknanda - one of the holiest stops on the Char Dham road yatra, and a peaceful river-bank night between Auli and Rishikesh.
Rishikesh at the Ganga's exit from the Himalayas is dotted with ancient temples, ashrams and meditation centres. The classic stops on a single overnight are Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula - and the evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Ashram is the headline experience.
If you want a shorter Chopta + Auli tour, the 5N/6D below covers the same trek-base region with fewer overnight stops. The 8N/9D Joshimath-route variant swaps the two Chopta nights for one Joshimath night and an extra Rishikesh night - same duration, different headline experience.
